Design and build a human-powered or remote-controlled rover capable of traversing lunar terrain while completing mission tasks in this hands-on, research-based activity .

Engineering Club members have the opportunity to participate in new experiences. Last year, we toured Crane Aerospace’s Lynnwood facility for Women in Aviation week and met former astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger. We have also visited UW’s MATE ROV workshop, among other things.
Registration has opened for the 2026-27 year for some teams. Currently, you are able to submit an application for the Solar Car Challenge competition and complete the interest form for the MATE ROV team. To register, click here.
